How Maya's Doing

All in all Maya's doing great!

On Tuesday when we picked her up at the orphanage, she was very upset and she basically shut down - just whimpering. By that evening she was crying a more normal cry.

Twenty four hours later we got our first smile! She is very attached to me and wouldn't let Mike hold her on Wednesday nor did she like it if I left the room even for a minute.

She is warming up to Mike now and does allow me a few minutes to leave the room.

Developmentally she seems to be pretty much on target. She is almost walking, can throw and catch a ball, and can clap.

She isn't sleeping that well, partly because she is itchy at night and partly because I think she needs to be on a more substantial diet. We're working on that.

Here are two videos - one of her almost walking and one where she is clapping and a couple snaps of her over the last couple of days.

Five families arrive the evening late on the 27th to the hotel so I hope we might see you.
