Maya Turns Two - Part 2

Two Peas

While waiting for Maya, I spent a lot of time fretting about the ever-increasing age gap between Aidan and my daughter-to-be. Clearly, this was all for naught. Despite the six year age gap, Aidan and Maya get along like two peas in a pod (or should i say crib)! So for those of you worrying about the age gap, my advice is to try to stop worrying. How the kids get along will be more a function of their personalities, not how close they are in age. The big age gap has some advantages too... very little sibling rivalry and the older one can be a lot of help.

TDH Gala

Two weeks ago, we attended the third annual TDH Gala. We were joined by our friends Lisa and David, and Nia and Ken. The gala raised $27,000 for the Long Hai Centre, a social centre outsite of Vung Tau, where children come to study and learn trades. There will also be an orphanage there. Special thanks to friends and family who contributed to this very worthy cause. Also, an extra special shout-out to Christine, Sharon and all the other volunteers for the great job they did on the gala!! Here are a few photos from the night....

Ken and Nia (thanks to Ken for trying to keep Aidan under wraps!) My mom and me Me and my Maya
I told Aidan he had to be on his best behaviour because of the Vietnamese adoption delegates- that we needed to look like a good family - that we didn't want to ruin it for other families - but he didn't listen!
Really - he's not like this at home!
Sorry to a few guests who got conked in the head by the launching of stuffed animals (Sharon, i think that might include your mom)
Needless to say, the kids enjoyed themselves!
Despite having dinner before the gala, Maya still demolished a four course meal!
"Can I drink this??"
