Name Change Challenges

Hi, We have having challenges with Maya's name change. Maya is a Canadian citizen and has a Canadian passport. however, they rejected our application because she did not have a citizenship card. Have others had the same problem? Why would we need a citizenship card if we already had a passport? We live in Ontario.

  1. I guess you never sent the form when you got back to get a citizenship card and certificate??...not sure why it matters, but...did you get the regular passport then as well?...can you still get the citizenship card now??

  2. I am not sure why they would want the card but when I came back from Vietnam I did finish the rest of Lily's citizenship and they returned a certificate and a card (although I had written her eyes were black but I had meant her hair). I am about to embark on the name change challenge this week.
