Meeting Maya Bao Thanh!

Tuesday we drove from Ho Chi Minh City to Ba Ria (near Vung Tau) to meet our new daughter, Maya Bao Thanh! We were accompanied by Loan from our agency and we travelled with Nicoletta and her niece (Lisa) and friend (Janet).

After a two hour drive we pulled up at the orphanage, Vung Tau 3. We took a picture of the gate where Maya was abandoned.

Upon arriving, we first met with the director who told us that the children had been well-cared for and loved and that, although they were sad to see the children go, they were happy that our new daughter was going to have a good family who would take good care of her.
Here we are with the director.

Then we went to the babies' room to meet Maya! As you can see in the video, it took a few minutes for me to find her. But when I did, she was absolutely precious! She didn't know quite what to think of me. She was very scared...

Here is Maya with her new Daddy!

And new Mommy!

Leaving with Maya
We had to get a photo with Mr. Le who found her at the gate

All dressed up for the G&R ceremony

On our way to officially welcome Maya into our family. I am smiling but Maya has a big tear in her eye...

G&R photos tomorrow.
